#83 - Let's Get Rob!

IT'S A BOLD NEW DIRECTION!

IT ALL STARTS HERE!

EVERYTHING CHANGES!

THE ALL NEW, ALL DIFFERENT COMIC BOOK PITT!

Okay, well maybe we're exaggerating a little with those cliched comic book sayings. It's still Dan and the Duke, but it's a brand new year and we have a lot to talk about. We've been gone for three weeks, but the comic book industry stops for no one. We talk about the recent New 52 cancellations/replacements, Rob "I Have More Lives Than a Cat" Liefeld's New 52 assignments, Walt Simonson on Avengers, Gene Ha on Justice League, DC Comics' new logo and, of course, we manage to squeeze in a few reviews.

We've also issued one challenge to ourselves: to interview Rob Liefeld. Love him or hate him, Rob is one of the most well known personalities in comics and has had an incredible (and some might say, infamous) career.

#80 - Three Year Anniversary

Three years ago last week we put the first episode of CBP online. That first episode was hilarious, it took us twice as long to figure out how to record, edit and upload the episode than the actual length of the episode itself.

In this 80th episode Duke gives his two cents on The Walking Dead (SPOILERS!) and of course there's some comic talk. We discuss Fantastic Four #600, FF #12, I, Vampire #3, and the Mystery Men mini-series.

The intro for this episode was provided by Nick Marino, creator of the webcomic Stick Cats.

#79 - Walking Dead Mid-Season Wrap Up!

MANY, MANY SPOILERS AND EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AHEAD!

Okay, you've been warned, but just in case you didn't get the hint, if you haven't watched episode 7 of The Walking Dead, you may not want to listen to this show. Dan, Jazzy Jeff and guests Link (from Yamagato Industries Business Report) and his wife Caitlyn talk about MAJOR plot points from the mid-season finale, discuss our thoughts of the season up to this point, and we each give our predictions for the rest of season 2 and beyond.

#78 - Make Mine...Cancelled?!?

We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore! Okay, maybe not 'mad as hell', but we have a bone to pick with Marvel and the number of books showing up on the chopping block recently.

On the other side of the street, we have nothing but continuing love for a lot of DC books, including Zatanna, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Green Lantern, Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E. and more.

By the way, Luther Strode is a bad mother-shut your mouth! But I'm talkin' 'bout Luther Strode! Can you dig it? Seriously though, go get The Strange Talent of Luther Strode ASAP.

This episode's intro is provided by Nick Marino from the AudioShocker family of podcasts. If you like talking about comic books, movies, video games, creating independent comics or just about any kind of pop culture topic, you're bound to find something of interest in one or more of his shows...

#68 - Marvelized!

There is a lot of summer movie conversation and a heavy concentration of Marvel titles are discussed.

NEW CONTEST!

Our new host needs a nickname, but to make things more fun, we all want new nicknames. The twist is, they have to be in the style of the old Marvel Bullpen as perfected by Stan 'The Man' Lee. He annointed creators with such names as Merry Gerry Conway, Gentleman Gene Colan (or Gene 'the Dean' Colan), Sturdy Steve Ditko, Rascally Roy Thomas, Jazzy John Romita and of course, Jack 'King' Kirby.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to come up with the best nicknames for Dan, Scott and Jeff.

The deadline is 12:00am, July 31st, 2011. Email your submissions to comicbookpitt@gmail.com.
