Dan was fortunate enough to get a barely-used Barnes and Noble color Nook from a family member and one of the first things he did was download some comics. Take 5 minutes and listen to his thoughts on the digital reading experience.
It truly is the season of Festivus, as both Dan and the Duke air some grievances. Duke takes umbrage with Marvel's current polybagging of the Ultimate titles while Dan realizes that going back and rereading The Walking Dead from the beginning isn't as easy as he thought.
Of course there is some comic talk, as D & D review Defenders #1, Mouse Guard The Black Axe #3, Valen the Outcast #1 and Irredeemable #32. There's also some books reviewed from the recent past; 100 Bullets Vol. 5: The Counterfifth Detective and Captain Britain and MI:13.

Pittsburgh is fortunate to have a great community of comic book stores, creators and organizations that support that community. One of those exemplary organizations is The Toonseum, one of three museums in the United States solely devoted to the art and history of comics and animation.
Well it's four weeks and fifty-two new comic books later. For better or for worse, we have a lot of new reading material on the shelves. The interesting next step is to sift through all 52 books and decide what stays, what goes, and what's on the bubble.
The last week of New 52 releases are here and it's been a fun ride thus far. This first part of Week 4 we have All Star Western, Aquaman, Batman the Dark Knight, Blackhawks, The Flash, and The Fury of Firestorm the Nuclear Men.
Dang and Duke tackle the most controversial subject on the internet: Catwoman and Starfire knockin' boots in their respective titles. Turns out they're all for it!
As expected, there's a lot of New 52 conversation, but D & D manage to squeeze in some Marvel talk as well.
The second half of the Week 2 books didn't feel as strong as the first half, but they were still mostly enjoyable. We pick up with Grifter, Legion Lost, Mister Terrific, Red Lanterns, Resurrection Man, Suicide Squad and Superboy.
The New 52 got off to somewhat of a lackluster and lukewarm start in Week 1, but DC Comics has stepped up their game with Week 2. There are definitely a few keepers in this second wave of New 52 comics. First up: Batman and Robin, Batwoman, Deathstroke, Demon Knights, Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E. and Green Lantern.
This is it, the beginning of the new era for DC Comics: The New 52. Unless you've been living under a rock all summer, you know that this is one of the biggest events to rock the comics landscape in many years. Dang and Duke are on the front line to talk about some of the books in the first wave of releases from this week.
And so it begins! The first wave of DC Comics' new titles came out this week and for better or worse, Dan got them all. Here are some initial thoughts about the first batch of books he read.
Our good friends over at Sorgatron Media attended the Baltimore Comic Con 2011 and had the pleasure of talking with Kelly Yates, illustrator for the Doctor Who comic from IDW. They talk about how he got into comics, how the comics handle canon, and what characters he would like to tackle.

You thought we were done with the Pittsburgh Comicon interviews? Nope, we had one more, this time talking with Loran Skinkis and Gary Morgan from Films and Comics
STRIPPED is a project that is way past due. Webcomic creator Dave Kellett (Sheldon, Drive) and filmmaker Fred Schroeder have put together a documentary interviewing 60 comic creators, from both print and web, about cartooning as an industry, an art form and a passion, including thoughts on the past, present and future of their chosen profession.
Now the project is ready for the post-production phase, which is where their Kickstarter campaign comes in. Dave and Fred need help to take this film the rest of the way, so check out the trailer and visit their page to learn more about how you can help.
Despite all the recent behind-the-scenes drama swirling around this show, I still think it's safe to say that the second season of TWD is going to be twice as amazing as the first season.
Dan and Jeff recently had the pleasure of talking to Emily McGuiness. Emily is the writer/artist of the full length graphic novel Ties: A Chronicle of Letters and Scotch. Emily talks about her time at SCAD, her experiences creating Ties, her successful Kickstarter campaign, San Diego Comic Con, and more.
Dan and Jeff talk about the new Blade Runner movie news, the comic book movies filming concurrently in Pittsburgh and Cleveland, cool t-shirts from Rusty Bridge, and the relationship between comic books, professional wrestling and soap operas. Marvel Architect Jason Aaron joins forces with legendary artist Marc Silvestri to redefine the Hulk in an all new ongoing series. After the events of Fear Itself, the Hulk has gone into hiding, seemingly safe from a world that hates and fears him. But when government agents come knocking at his door, the Hulk has no choice but to return to war against the one man whose existence threatens the safety of every living creature on the Earth. The one man who’s existence could doom the Hulk himself. And that man is Bruce Banner. Now separated into two men, the Hulk and Banner exist worlds apart but one climactic battle will bring them face to face again—and leave the Marvel Universe shaking in its wake.
It's the last big comic book movie of the summer, Captain America: The First Avenger. There was a lot riding on this movie because it's the final piece of the puzzle, connecting the Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor films and all leading to The Avengers, which will be the big Marvel movie in 2012.
I'd say this is probably one of the most anticipated trailers to come out of SDCC. I think it's safe to say that Season 2 is going to be pretty incredible.
