#94 - We Come From IKEA

Comic book (aka "flurggis") conversation dominates this episode and we tried our first "lightning round" of comic reviews. We have to work on the "lightning" part, but we talked about Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #9, Fantastic Four #606, Prophet #25, Mind The Gap #1, Youngblood #71, and Night of 1000 Wolves #1.

#93 - Fast and Loose

Like the title says, we play it fast and loose in this episode, but that's what you've come to expect from the hard livin', hard drinkin' and hard hittin' hosts of CBP. Since the audio from the last episode was a little wonky, there's a little bit of Free Comic Book Day recap and then we dive in and talk comics, both free books and the books we happily pay for week after week. Some of the books we discuss include Earth 2 #1, Fantastic Four #605, The Spider #1 and XO Manowar #1.

Also, friend of CBP, writer Garrett Free is sponsoring a Kickstarter campaign for his independent comic, Arcadian Knights. If you're looking for a cool indie comic to support, check it out.

Free Comic Book Day 2012!

(FYI, approximately the first 4 minutes and 30 seconds of this recording sounds odd, but the rest of it sounds pretty good.)

For FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2012, CBP was invited to spend the afternoon at New Dimension Comics at Century III Mall. We scored a bunch of free comics, took advantage of the nice back issue sale, scarfed down a slice of pizza or two and generally enjoyed the festivities. Aside from all the free and fun activities that were available, our friends and local comics creators, Shawn Atkins, Jared Catherine and Nick Marino stopped by to hang out and give us a hard time.

Thanks again to Elizabeth Bashur of Little House, Big Art for taking care of us and thanks to the staff of New Dimension Comics for hosting us and for having a great event.

CBP AudioBoo #29 - The Avengers

Dan caught a midnight screening of Marvel's The Avengers last night. Listen to his thoughts immediately following the movie. WARNING: There is an unabashed amount of fanboy praise in a short amount of time.
