#201 - Free Comic Book Day 2015

It's that time of year, that unofficial nerd holiday known as FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! As usual, we recorded a live in-store episode, this year we were at New Dimension Comics at Century III Mall.

HOSTS: Dan, Jared, and Scott

NEWS/TALK: Just about everything, including a brief overview of this year's FCBD books.

Review Blast!

Are there maybe some titles that you're not sure about? Well, enjoy some short reviews from Rich Urbano of New Dimension Comics at Century III Mall.

Wicked & Divine (Image Comics): Modern society often treats celebrities as gods. What if they actually were gods? This is the premise that the Wicked & Divine explores and it does it in the most awesome way possible.

Grayson (DC Comics): After the events of Forever Evil, Dick Grayson can't go back to the life that he and the public knows him for. Thus, he creates a new life for himself: Secret Agent 37 for the Spyral Organization.

Southern Bastards (Image Comics): Earl Tubb returns to his hometown after 40 years to put the finishing touches on the sale of his boyhood home. Upon arriving, he is reminded of the demons that kept him away for so long. However, this time Earl is bent on beating the demons, literally, with a baseball bat before he leaves town.

Spread (Image Comics): This book has elements that remind me of such titles as The Walking Dead, Saga, Wolverine, and the Baby Hope story arc from Cable. If you like any of these titles, check out Spread.

#155 - Free Comic Book Day LIVE!

Dan, Duke, and Jared recorded this episode live at New Dimension Comics-Century III for Free Comic Book Day. We discuss some of the books offered plus review The Bunker, Daredevil, Star Wars: Rebel Heist, and more. Again, this was a LIVE episode, so please excuse the background noise.

#154 - The Other White Meat

The Trio of Terror is back. Duke recaps the recent New Dimension Comics Pittsburgh Mills Comics & Collectibles Show, Dan sings the praises of Alex + Ada #1-5, Jared & Duke tag team the Superior Spider-Man finale, and then Dan & Duke try to figure out what's next for The Walking Dead after issue 126.

CBP AudioBoo #61 - Black Friday at NDC

Forget camping out in front of Best Buy or standing in line at Target, we've got a new Black Friday shopping tradition thanks to the fine folks at New Dimensions Comics. Trust me, there's nothing like digging through long boxes at midnight.

CBP Special - New Dimension Comics LIVE!

While Duke was representing CBP at the Baltimore Comic Con, Dan and Nick from the Audioshocker podcast hung out at New Dimension Comics new location at Century III Mall for their grand re-opening sale and celebration. There was some conversation about creators rights and then our friend Jared Catherine stopped by and joined the boys for some recent comic talk.

Thanks again to New Dimension Comics and Elizabeth Bashur for hosting us and bending over backwards to make us feel at home and for filling our bellies with pizza.

#93 - Fast and Loose

Like the title says, we play it fast and loose in this episode, but that's what you've come to expect from the hard livin', hard drinkin' and hard hittin' hosts of CBP. Since the audio from the last episode was a little wonky, there's a little bit of Free Comic Book Day recap and then we dive in and talk comics, both free books and the books we happily pay for week after week. Some of the books we discuss include Earth 2 #1, Fantastic Four #605, The Spider #1 and XO Manowar #1.

Also, friend of CBP, writer Garrett Free is sponsoring a Kickstarter campaign for his independent comic, Arcadian Knights. If you're looking for a cool indie comic to support, check it out.
